The recipe of Reading Premium was created by Reading Pennsylvania based brew master, Edward Messer, in 1958. Today, Reading Brewing Company follows a similar recipe creating a beer is lighter bodied yet still of flavor.

"Please tell me that Reading Premium will be available in bottles for my big Fourth of July picnic this summer. You Guys did a GREAT job on that old classic favorite. My dad used to sit at the kitchen table after work on those hot summer afternoons back in the sixties, before air conditioning, drinking Old Reading. He'd pour about a half inch into a glass for me - and I felt like a big shot! Funny how a beer can bring back all those good old memories."
